Who…
We had 10 professionals and one spouse join us last night, including one individual all the way from Colorado Springs. It was nice to meet you all and we hope to see you again next month.

Where…
We meet at the Illegal Grounds Coffee House which was the perfect size and it met all of our needs: free wi-fi, free parking, plenty of space, and easy to get to. However, it looks like they just opened their doors and they haven’t yet put together a complete cafe menu (i.e., there wasn’t anything to eat) and some of their drinks weren’t available either. Though the Barista informed us they will have a full kitchen within a few weeks.

What…
We would also like to say thanks to Scott Reynen for putting together a discussion on Microformats — it was a great introduction on how to add richer semantics to HTML-based markup.

Following the meeting a handful of us meet at the Mayan Theater for the Helvetica Film — if you haven’t seen it make sure you do, this film is awesome. By the way, the DVD will be available in about three weeks.

One Response to “Recap of October’s Refresh Meeting”

  1. Brooke Kuhlmann Says:

Well, I guess I’ll prime the discussion. Some things that would be cool to see on agenda:

    Ruby
Understanding licensing (i.e. creative commons, GPL, Apache, etc).
Google Web Toolkits and Google Gears
    CSS
    AJAX
    PHP

A portable projector for code demos would be slick but that might be a little tricky to come by.

This is great start, guys. Keep up the good work.
